There are a lot dimensions to the topic of psychic kids. Children by nature are unlike adults in a host of ways. As hard as we adults try, our minds are too cluttered and too developed to experience the real world and psychic world the way kids too. Everyone cites the innocence of children as a key characteristic that makes them psychic. And I believe there is truth to this.
Having a psychic gift is the ability to connect to the psychic world. The theory is that ANYONE can be trained to tap into this world. Indeed, we are all psychic or at least have the ability to be psychic. But unfortunately few of us have the discipline, desire, patience, and ability to develop psychic talents. Children, by nature, are not yet developed and thus are inherently more open consciously and subconsciously to psychic suggestions. Many psychic children will exhibit their abilities. But in most cases it will not be discovered, or it will be suppressed or it will just not have a chance to develop. It’s sort of like a flower in rocky, clay soil garden. It may spring to life, but will rapidly suffocate and die if not given water, richer soil, sunlight etc.
The other factor is the kids themselves. For the most part, they may not even be aware that they are psychic. And when they do, it will manifest itself as something weird, odd, and freaky. And anyone who knows ANY children will know that the last thing a kid wants to experience is ‘being different’ from their peer group. As a result, this ability just never gets developed. In fact you may be reading this and thinking this may have applied to you when you were young. Odds are it did.
I think I have a psychic boy?
I put the question mark there deliberately. It’s very difficult for adults to come to terms with children’s psychic ability. However, it’s imperative that you do not dismiss or judge them. Even if you have doubts or concerns about their development. My suggestion is to nurture and grow this ability but in an objective context. You do not want to make the reverse mistake of putting too much pressure and too much suggestive behaviour on their shoulders. Try to get them to talk about what they felt and to describe it in as much detail as possible.
Explain that you do not have all the answers. But you will listen and support them and help them to understand their experience. But only they can truly determine if they experienced a real psychic moment or not. Again, it’s imperative that you remain supportive, understanding, open, but above all objective without being judgemental.
Psychic kids may get scared and feel stressed after experiencing an episode. You can reassure them that they have nothing to fear in their experiences. I would also suggest cautioning them not to be too open about sharing these experiences – that’s it’s a special gift that’s just for them and those they know and trust to share with.
You can find psychic kids online the way you’d find non-psychic kids. Just go to forums, twitter, facebook, myspace, etc. There are shows like psychic kids arts and entertainment channel as well as psychic kids children of the paranormal that also help eductation and inform you of real life children with abilities.
Psychic kids will often connect with one another online and form groups and associations that help them strengthen their own self-confidence and self-assuredness. However, most psychic kids will probably never openly reveal their special gifts and talents for the reasons specified in this article.
